Default Should I go B18 Turbo and do the K-series later?

I ran into a good deal on a k20 but the seller is not responding. So, I started searching and ran into a good deal on a B18 that I can boost and have a nice 260whp-280whp teg. should I do that or should I wait and do the k20? If I go with the b18 turbo I'll be doing the K20 on January next year.

Seriously, Im getting desperate and need to see my car running.

two different worlds. Im not a fan of slapping a turbo on a stock motor. If you get forged pistons and rods, and sleeve it, then by all means BOOOST that ****. Otherwise you are gonna melt your stock pistons.

7psi on stock motor is not going to harm anything. *Tuning*

You can tune all you want, but that doesnt change the fact that stock internals arent built for boost. It might work for awhile, but dont expect it to work very long. Can it be done? absolutely. But what happens when you want to start pushing the boost up to 9-10 lbs because 7psi just isnt enough.

If you are getting another motor for this set up, you should just send it out and have it sleeved (750-950), get some forged rods and pistons (650ish), and boost the hell out of it, way more than 280whp. This is just what I would do.

Ryan, who is a fan of doing it right the first time.

I have a buddy pushing 15 PSI with inline pro headgasket on his Type R....he's been boosted for almost 2 years...no problems....IMO, boost it til it blows and then send it out to be fully built...why throw away perfectly good internals?

Just my opinion though.

now that the K series swap is available, i dont know why anyone would go boost on a bseries, unless their intent is for street racing or drag.
