Default How to identify motor?

I am looking at getting a car that gets good gas mileage and I'm interested in getting a Honda. The car that I want is a Honda Civic Hatchback. I have read that the VX model that has the 1.5L with 92 horsepower gets up to 56 mpg. When looking at the engine how can I tell if it is the 92 horsepower model. From looking at ads some have the 70 horsepower engine.

Thanks

donnie

vx is a D15z1 i ***think*** not absolutly sure. but check the block it will give you a code like, D15z1, d15z6, and there are a couple more.

yeah you're correct. on the block near the tranny code (most of the time) there should be a stamped code. in your case it should be D15Z1.
