Default D16y7 To D16Y8 & Turbo

I have all the parts for a mini-me swap but I also have a turbo kit waiting to be put in. I already did tons of searches, And I need to know how this would differ from doing one at a time? I realize i'm going to have to go into the engine for each project anyways, so why not do it all at once! If anyone can help me out, or if anyone has any links I could check or out, or even a topic i looked over I would really really appreciate it!

Thanks!

P.S. I've never done engine work before, but I feel I have all the patience to do a job well done.

Well, the turbo should be a bolt-on affair aside from the couple of oil lines you need to run (at least one of which necessitates tapping the oil pan). I wouldn't consider it to be a blockade of any sort to your aspirations for a mini-me. Just get that Y8 head on the Y7 block and worry about turbocharging it later.

So you mean I don't have to go into the engine when I turbo the car?

Thanks for reply!

If you're looking into high-boost levels (12+ psi), you'll probably want to upgrade your pistons and rods. If you're planning on a more sane, street-friendly boost diet (6-10 psi), there's no reason you can't slap a turbo kit on a d-series, get a couple hours of tuning under your belt and drive the **** out of it. For examples, troll around in our forced induction forum for a while .

And you're welcome.
