Update: Exhaust install pics as requested
Evo:

Burscher Racing exhaust, 3" turbo-back, no cat or resonators:

Lookin down the muffler:

Erik [Thatchmaster], doing his whole "work" thing (or thinking about falling asleep):

Nasty, nasty stock exhaust!:

POS stock exhaust outside:

Finished product:

98db at 4500rpm! Really, really good gains though. It's goin back on the dyno this Wednesday, so we'll see.
Well, my friend put his EVO on the dyno today...one of only 2 dynos in my city, both of which were just put in. It's a Mustang non-intertia dyno, so the numbers are REALLY low...he was lookin to get a baseline for when he puts some new parts on this week. Stock EVOs do about 230whp on a "regular" dyno. His did 190whp with an intake and diverter valve, just to give you an idea of how different these dynos are.
They also let him do some 1/4 mile runs on there. It did high 13s, which is pretty accurate considering it's simulated!
For the Rochester people, the place is called Dynamx. It's in Webster, their number is 671-7047. The guys who run it are cool as hell.
This car was DEAFENING, even with stock exhaust (which will be replaced Friday).

Pics taken by various people with various cameras, so don't blame meh if you think they suck!
Edit- added a couple more.

As in who makes it? Or what is it?
I'm not sure who makes it. And since somebody usually asks anyway, a diverter valve in like a blowoff valve, but it sends the air back into the intake. It also helps reduce lag. Some people call them recirculating valves.
Blowoff valves kinda "pop", diverters sound like a little jet engine (especially with a spooling turbo in a concrete warehouse).

Its like a blow off valve (identical....actually) but instead of dumping into the atmosphere, it diverts back into the intake.

It's $135 an hour, but since they're just starting and we're gonna be coming back pretty regularly, they gave him 3 hours for $135 and his next session is free.
The car is getting an exhaust this weekend (not sure of the brand, something that weighs 14 pounds with a name I couldn't pronounce) and going back to the dyno. Then the next week it's getting a Vishnu piggyback, and it's going back again.

Did you read the explaination for those numbers? I mean...do you really think even a stock Evo would only pull 190hp on a standard dyno? It's not the same whp reading given by most dynos out their, it's a completely different system. As I said, stock would be about 230whp...he'd be looking at 240 with his current mods. But the point of dynoing wasn't to say "y0 i gotz ____whp!!!" on webboards, it's to establish an accurate/consistent baseline for each time he gets parts.
Not to mention, a stock Evo with a good driver can pull very low 13s, I just thought it was cool that you could do 1/4 mile runs on the dyno, just to get a rough idea.

Haha...best plate ever!
He doesn't care if it's showing, theives'll have an easy enough time finding his car if they're looking for an Evo since there's only 2 or 3 other ones in the whole city. None of the 50 year old women at the DMV look like they'd be running plates for criminals, either.
