itr and the 1/4
ok so im arguing with my friend the other day who is obsessed with mustangs and he kept on saying that his mustang could kill my type r stock for stock and his reasoning was that the R has 4cyls and his 5.0 has 8 he obviously has very little knowledge of cars with this statement i know this is a chilish thing to argue about but i need some links to websites that list factual numbers for both cars and i cant seem to find one so im reaching out to my hondatech brotheren for some help thanks in advance

Depends on what model of mustang it is. A mustang GT 5.0 stock for stock will beat an ITR. A mustang LX 5.0 stock for stock, the ITR can just barely beat it, if you are good at launching that is. Of course if the guy in the GT doesnt know how to shift very well... its a different story.

yeah it has always pretty much been my experience that i would be able to beat the 5.0 even my friends that have 5.0's say that stock for stock the itr is faster but all of theirs run 12's or better so there is obviously no competion for them against an itr and i know that the 4.6 would defenetly not be able to win in a race against an itr just off the numbers i have seen posted in car and driver which are usually right around the low 15's like 15.0 maybe 14.8 at the lowest correct me if im wrong some one

You have it backwards. THe LX's are faster than the GT's. No cladding, no fogs, no big spoiler, lighter seats. And if the LX is a notchback, it's lighter yet.
Powertrain is identical on both, weight rules!
