I posted this in the integra forums but maybe ill get some different answers here.
Heres the original thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=82782
Anyways I got the Neuspeed Race springs sitting in my room now. The Front set of springs are cut a tiny bit. So whats the drop on these guys? 2" ? im hearing different answers from different people.. well honestly im not a race boy, I guess im more of a car enthusiast thats interested in doing performance mods, so more of a hobby kinda thing i suppose. Anyhow Im just looking for something that will give me a smooth ride, something equal to the stock ride but better handling. The consensus is leaning towards the Koni Yellow shocks. They are quite expensive.. average price on these are about 500-600$..
at this point I dont know what I want to do... first off are these neuspeed race springs to much of a drop on my car? I was doing some searches on shocks and I came across this site http://integra.vtec.net/handling/tokiconspeed.html To save you the trouble ill quote something the reviewer wrote
[Q]The heart of the problem lies with Neuspeed, whose only set of stiff springs (Race version) leaves you with a 2.5” drop in ride height. This is too low for Integras. The car has a high center of gravity by design, so not only the car appears strange when lowered that much, but with this drop it has a major tendency to scrape the underbody, particularly if it has an aftermarket exhaust or lower suspension braces. Neuspeed Race Springs are great, but Neuspeed or some other spring manufacturer needs to make a race-stiff (400- 500 pound/inch) spring that drops the car a reasonable level (1.25 to 1.5 inches ). It is my opinion these “sport” springs were designed to cater to buyers concerned more with aesthetics than performance, so the spring rate was kept below 250lb/in to keep a somewhat compliant ride. To increase resistance to roll and increase the transfer of weight (the faster the better) the springs need to be in the area of 350lb/in for the front and 300lb/in for the back. These are rough estimates done without calculations, but the point is that the “sport” set of springs needs to be stiffer.
[/Q]
Is this true? neuspeed race springs = 2.5" drop?
To low for the integras?
If this holds to be true then I want to sell my springs and go with another alternative like the Eibach pro-kits or something. As I am a daily driver I dont want to be scratching the bottom of my car everyday
Ok so what I want out of this thread is .. "if the neuspeed springs are ok for my 98 integra, then what kinda shocks should I get?"
"if I get Eibach pro-kits instead what kinda shocks?"
EDIT: also if any of you decide to give adice on shocks stating this brand is good or bad.. please back up your statements. If you actually took the time to read the thread I posted in the integra forums some people just say stuff like.. this brand sux ::end of reply:: that isnt very helpful to me or any of us here .. SO DONT DO IT..THANKS

pro kits and sportlines get KYB AGX's cause those spring rates aren't that high, also they match!
anythign lower or stiffer spring rates get tokico illuminas
coilovers or really stiff springs get koni yellows

I've got H&R race/Koni yellows, thinking of switching to H&R sport or Eibach...car is lowered about 2.75 front 2.25 rear, rides a bit to harsh(even with the shocks on the softest setting). The underbody doesn't scrape just the exhaust, only on big speed bumps.
If you want a similar ride to stock and don't want to be too low, don't use the Race springs!

I wols recommend the complete coil-over suspen. kit made from Apex'i N1 system.other such as tanabe, tein etc...
