I have read the stickied posts and I was just wondering how hard it is to ride a bike.

I have never had any sort of riding experience but I am aware of the functions necessary to ride one. My experience has been in cars (manual, auto). Input is appreciated.

Easy to ride, difficult to master.

 

my buddy had an f2 and he just didn't get it. even took the msf course and the instructors actually asked him to leave on the day of the test dsand perhaps try to come back after practicing some more.
it helps if you have coordination, know how to drive a MT, and get over the fear of leaning. well those are the problems that my buddy had.

It's simple to be an "okay" rider but becoming a good rider takes time and lots of practice..I had never really ridden a bike before I got my Zx-6 and after having it for a month now I love the bike but I'd probbaly be a better rider by now if I had started out with a 250cc because the bigger R-spec bikes like I have aren't as forgiving and dropping one would suck. Start off small with a 250cc for a few weeks, then take the MSF course and when you feel ready and conifident enough; go get a bigger bike.
