Default Junkyard Turbo or B-series Swap

Here we go, ive not seen very many built d series motors, so i want to be a bit diverse, and i am wondering weather i should go Junkyard turbo with my d16z6, or what way of getting myself to a crVtec

Also, please share your opinions!

well i was in the same dilema about a month ago. but decided to go the turbo route and in total with afc hack and big intercooler i spent 1300 and its super quick. to build a crv/vtec which i was planning on doing to make this much amount of power i would have probably spent way more than 3000 on the whole build up.
i only been boosting about a week and so far killed everyone i race and the motor feels good really safe right now. also daily driving since the turbo spools at 3400rpm i dont hit boost so motor is safe for daily driving anywhere.

i chose the b20 to a crvtec, here is why....

i am assuming you have average knowledge about cars. that being said, that leads me to believe that you dont have the skills to put together your own DIY/homemade/junkyard turbo. you run a risk up F*cking up your motor.

that being said, i wouldnt go with the crvtec either. i would keep it strait b20 and once you feel you have the skills to take it to the next level then come back and do this poll again.

please dont take offense to this, IMO i think too many people jump in and have no idea what they are getting into. you could have all the skills, however in that case you wouldnt be asking this question....

I put together my own turbo kit. i did all the fabrication myself. I had a full metals shop and auto shop at my disposal, i knew what i was doing..... AND IT WAS A BIOTCH!!!!

just some things to think about.

go with a b18, and then go from there.

b18 is a better platform than a b20.

it would be a better turbo platform but for a simple all motor setup I would deff go with the b20 block.

i think i would still go with the b18. im not a fan of the thin walled cylinders on the b20. if you get any kind of compression in there N/A or FI they can crack at any time.
