I can get the G5 for really really cheap, I searched the web and researched it ... i'm pretty convinced but i'd like to see some more macro shots taken by it.

Heres a few random ones that I have on my we-todd...

Keep in mind that these are all resized and compressed for the web. The actual photos are much larger and more vibrant.

damn those are nice pics!

does anyone have an opinion on the Fujifilm FinePix S7000? There's a great deal on that on and i checked out Dpreview and can't really decide. Any input would be appreciated.

I'll probably stick with the G5 considering I already own a Canon and am really familiar with how they work.

here are a few shots taken with the s50. pretty much the same cam as the g5 (ccd sensor and imageprocessing wise it is), just has a more compact lens and maybe a few other minor minor differences. the pic quality is pretty much on par. this cam takes absolutely beautiful pics as you can see. if only it were mine, and not my dads... i personally have a canon a300, also a great cam (especially value / pic quality wise). canon owns all other cameras. PERIOD. also, sorry about the pic size. they were originally were 2mb, but i got them each down to about 150-200k. i really wanted to maintain the original quality as much as possible. the brightness / contrast was adjusted, and they were sharpened due to the dreaded resize blur, but i tried to touch them up as little as possible.

thats what it is, sorry couldn't think of it. but the G5 is the only cannon to offer adjustable apt, and shutter speed. (of course that is for this years models) excluding SLR-d camera's

nope... the a60/70/80, s50, all the g series, and i know more s series are too (just cant think of the models off the top of my head), ALL have shutter / apature priority mode, full manual mode, and depending on the model, up to 2 (maybe 3) other manual shooting modes i cant remember (i need some sleep)

here is a pic i took in shutter priority mode. 15 sec exposure... its a little over exposed i guess (im still learning).

and the main thing that sets cannons apart is there digic cpu. no other copany can come CLOSE to touching it, but then again, no other company can come close to touching canon in any other aspect either . canon is wonderful. i would never consider buying a camera made by anyone else.

yes, that is what shutter and apature priority mode are. shutter mode, slelect shutter speed, apature automatically seleceted, oppsite for the other. both can be controled manually (along with every other aspect of the camera) in manul mode

as for the shutter speed, not sure, it may vary between the 2 cams.

i think the s50 is 15-1/1500 & the g5 is 15-1/2000
