Well, I'm sure your familiar with the stock DA unit that effectively hogs up all the space in the lower/front part of the engine compartment. The place racing piece replaces the stock bulky unit. It is designed to facilatate the use of JDM headers (which need adequate clearance) or to make more space for intercooler piping. A lot of us DA guys have to hack up their crossmember to create space. It does not improve performance in any significant way such as with traction bars. Although some DA owners have claimed that their front end felt a little stiffer. This would make sense, seeing as the stock unit is hollow and a bit frail and the PR crossmember is a much thicker and more stout piece.
P.S. It includes the mounting brackets to facilitate the use of a civic style radiator as well

not a bad looking piece...if i already hadn't hacked up mine i'd probobly pick it up, but honestly: the stock xmember isnt hollow and its not going anywhere, the thing was a bitch to cut up and bend in the correct ways.
I highly doubt that huge piece of metal is going to affect anything, but like i said b4 if this was prior to this, i would definately pick this up because it was a huge pain.
sucks its not a traction bar piece though, for the price you can't beat it.

I lucked out with my maxrev kit. The downpipe/manifold/turbo setup fit with no issues regarding the crossmember or block webbing. The intercooler piping was, of course, the only issue because I wanted to keep the a/c. Now that I'm just scrapping the a/c I don't really need the crossmember; it's just extra. If I install it I'll have to re-do my piping.
