Default Brake Pads installation problem

I have the 90-93 DA front calipers and rear calipers on my crx, and i am trying to put on some PBR Deluxe pads. When i tried to put them on, they were very tough to jam into the position as the ends (lengthwise) seemed too long to get into the caliper bracket. Are they supposed to be this snug? Or should they be able to move freely in the bracket? (do i have to grind them down?

HELP!

Part Numbers are D687 and D737

I don't ever remember having to "jamb" pads in on any Honda. try and make sure you have the correct pads

To answer your question, the pads should not sit firmly in the caliper. If they are too snug they can seize and wear abnormally. Once the caliper is in place over the rotor it can't fall out, so there is no reason to have to jam it in tightly. If you're 100% sure it's the right pad, you can grind the tabs a little to loosen them up. But before you do that, make sure you're not just installing them incorrectly.
