ill just save everyone the trouble and instantly nominate Falken Azenis

they sell them in 195/50/14s and are pretty well priced

i got my 205/50/15s for $74 a tire from discountdirect

they grip real well, people just trip about driving in the rain with them..i havent really had problems with them, just drive safely in the rain..dont drive lika ***

i am gonna second the falkens. i use these tires for autoxing, no they aren't hoosiers but they have been a good bargain tire to use.

Get the Falken Azenis. You can probably get a set for $250 mounted.

And if you go cheaper, Falken Ziex. They are great too from my experience with them, just not as great as the Azenis

I have had both...the Ziex have 420 tread wear in 14's while the Azenis have 200 Although the Azenis were great and all, I dont have a money tree in my ******* backyard and I went through them in less than 9 mo. I mean they were bald after all of them rotated regularly. They are rated the same performance wise and I truly didnt see a HUGE difference between the two. So IMHO I would go with the Zeix as a good comprimise for performance/price.

I agree. I have zeix on my 16's. 10x better in the rain than the Azenis, but they don't grip nearly as well.If your into auto-x I would get the Azenis, and if your not get zeix or a tire like them.

my 2 cents is for Yoko EVS100. 185-60-14 or 195-60-14. probably wear better than falkens, less noise, and these are the model put on the A-Spec package for the Acura TL.

205/60/14.. nice size that doesn't rub, but wide enough to get some decent traction.. I use BFG Traction T/A, a decent priced tire.

BFG

i think thats funny that u say azenis arent great in the rain. i think there good for wet weather, the azenis do have the tread pattern so it runs right through the water without a problem. i was barely breaking traction and having no spinning problems. but the thing that sucks is they do wear out very quickly. im gonna be trying out the falken ziexs for my next tire. i hear that there pretty good.

I like Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s. I've had them for about 2 years and they have been good to be. They grip well and are good in the rain which is a plus when you live on the east coast. You can get a set for barely over $200 on tirerack.

Thats what I'm saying too. For less then $200 you get four perfect tires either the Kuhmo 712's or 716's all season tires.

I change my vote. Forget the Azenis...try out the Ziex first. If you need more grip, you can always upgrade but they will last twice as long. They are what I have and I love them.

it really depends on the purpose of the car. if you do any competitive driving like autocross or hpde's then go with the azenis. if not and you just drive around town or whatnot then go with any of the others. i've put ziex on my wife's miata and i run on azenis. as stated before thye azenis wear out quick. the yokahamas are good too. my buddy runs them in the rain at hpde's over azenis. if you could find any old avs 100s that would be a good tire also
