hey thanks for the info guys, if irun any time soon i will let you know what times i turn out, i was thinking of taking out the ac system to loose some weight i think i will keep the interior though because its not like i am going to get into any serious competition. what all would i need to do to get the ac out? my main concern is that i dont want that new 134A spraying all over me, also i guess i should ask how much could i sell the ac for? any info would be great. thanks alot guys i really like it when my questions get answerd and i dont get alot of BS in my posts.

it took me liek 30-45 minutes to get the a/c out. it makes it easier if you take off the front bumper, although i've heard of it being done without doing that. you should just need some wrenches and sockets.. I think it might just be a 10mm and a 12mm, but i cant totally remember. just remember that if you have refrigerant in the system, you're supposed to have a professional take it out. mine didnt have any in there to begin with so i didnt have to worry about that.

yeah im sure i am suposed to have a pro do it, but when you brake it all down arent the pros just people. im a person too, the only difference is i dont charge myself 75 bucks an hour to do something. if anyone has any info on how to do this yourself that would be awesome, also how much does the whole system weigh? just to let me know if it is worth it or not, thanks alot, great info, keep it up

from what i remember, the compressor was the heaviest part. there isnt a whole lot of weight to the other stuff. It was just hoses/lines and the condenser. I cant see it weighing more then maybe 25 lbs or so? (someone correct me if i'm wrong though..)

imo, i'd rather keep the few lbs so that I could have A/C (if mine was working in the first place) but then again I live in southern california and summers are like 110-120 degrees. Unless your car is a track *****, i'd say keep it if it works. I'm sure theres lots of other stuff that can take more weight off than the a/c.
on the plus side though, it can clean up the engine bay dramatically ..

as for draining the refrigerant, i'm not sure how to do it on your own, so I cant help ya on that .. sorry. Hope the rest helps a little though.

If you can drive good I bet you can get a high 14 out of it that car only weighs about 2k. If you lose your ac and some other little stuff you could probably make it weigh 2k with you in it. I would say your good for a high 14 low 15.
