Just changed oil on B18C5 motor, some pics of craftsman jack, question on washer...
I just changed the oil and thought I would add some pics of the crushwasher from Honda and the one that comes with the Pep Boys magnetic bolt. Did anyone use the plastic washer that came with the magnetic bolt? I ended up using the honda crush washer as the plastic one looked so flimsy. Here are some pics...

Here are some OEM filters with crush washer taped to filter. Damn they are $6.60 a filter here in Long Island! That's more than the Purolator Pure One filter that performs best on multi pass SAE tests.

Closeup pic for those that always ask what the crushwasher looks like.

Pep boys magnetic drain plug.

Pic of the plastic washer in question. Anyone use it?

Pic of new aluminum jack next to my old pro lift jack.

Pic of rear handle, which is great when you need to lift the jack.
By the way, has anyone tried that garage floor sealant at Pep Boys? It is fairly inexpensive, I have seen it applied on TV and was thinking about getting it?
Thanks,
AW

I picked my jack up yesterday for 10% off as it was customer appreciation day. It is 2 pumps to the chasis and about 10 pumps to lift the car! Still it is better than driving the car on 2x4's then wheeling the heavy *** jack over, jacking up with the same number of pumps, then lowering and driving off the 2X4's.
I bought mine to use at the track as the closest track to me is hours away and I can't drive on my RA1's like I used to in Toronto when the track was an hour away.

i've used the plastic washer that comes with that drain bolt. it works fine. no leaks. i've actually used them on several occassions and have had no problems. the one drawback is that they are more expensive than the crushed washers from honda. i think like $0.35 so just best to continue using crushed washers but if you are hesitant about using that plastic one there are no worries.
btw nice jack.
btw nice jack.

I have used that stuff in my garage. Came out very nice. Directions are easy to fallow. If you know how to use a paint roller you can do it. The hard part was trying to get an even coat of the sprinkles on the whole floor...
Ths stuff is very resistant to staining and is very easy to clean up, usually a scrubber and some water with an accasional sprinkly of simple green. Dosent take very long to apply, but it needed like a week to fully dry before it could be parked on.

The floor was resistant to "hot tire pickup" but I found "wet hot tire pickup" to be a small problem. So I just put down a little industrial carpet to park the cars on.
I used the stuff from the home depot (forgot the brand) cost me about $100 to cover a 2 car garage.

Was your floor perfect before applying? My garage floor is not perfectly flat and has some old paint. I was planning on scarpping all of this off and applying the grey without the flecks.. It would then be a great place to work on the car. I thought it was resisten to hot tire pcikup, wet or dry? Does it actually rip the coating off the ground?

i use the plastic washer, according to the guy from Napa they should last for about a year.
Nice jack , how much was it and where did you get it from? I am looking to get a lowprofile jack for a good price
Make sure you prep the garage floor according to directions. Usually involves washing/scrubbing with a degreaser. Smooth floors may have to be "etched" with muriatic acid depending on the product you use.
There are links to the Sears Craftsman Jack ($200) and to the $90 Harbor Freight Jack in this topic.

Maybe, maybe not.
Yes, the more expensive Harbor Freight jack ($130, I think) is lighter and requires fewer pumps to raise the car.
But it may be worth it to some people to save $40 and use a few extra pumps.

And also lifts to a taller height.
I have one of the $130 jacks, and there's no way that I would want anything lower.

Sure, if the difference in lift height (15 1/8" vs 17 1/2") matters to you, then that can affect your decision too.
ot is that why you guys put carpet on your garage? for the hot tire pickup? i never understood that. i seen ppl do it with garage that doesnt have the coating on the floor. man thats my next project is to finally get a working garage. cabinets and coating on the floor. damn filipinos and their garage using it as play room. btw i am filipino.
