Default best gear setup for track racing

i am getting back to honda's as i have been into bmw's for the last 2-3 years. i enjoyed auto x'ing and tracking the m3, but i want to move into another honda as i have seen many eg lapping porsche's left and right. are there any tranny guru's here that know of a good set up for both the shorter auto x's and the longer tracking?

thanks jeff

I would help to know which transmission you're talking about.

See if you can find Mista Bone's Honda transmission web site. I used to have it bookmarked but can't find it now.

as i have not built it yet...it would probably be starting from a itr tranny. the gears and other internals can be changed so the original tranny really does not matter to my knowledge(again i have been out of the honda loop for about 2.5 yrs). i just would like to know what ratios would be best for a streetable na car and also a auto cross weekend warrior.

There have been a lot of discussions on gearing for ITR trannies.

Go here and check out the links for Transmission.

BTW the best gearing setups for road courses are not necessarily going to be the best for autocross, and vice versa.
