If anybody cries about me not putting a "spoiler" tag in there, well, you're just stupid.
I wonder what the outcome would have been if Montoya could have actually made the pass on MSchumacher on the first lap? JPM holds MS up until the opening pit stops while Button opens up more of a commanding lead ....
Still, this race was about as exciting as watching 40 cars run around in a circle.

schumi was just too fast!
He pulled a few 1.20.xx's in the race. His qualifying wasnt much better. Once Button pitted, Schumi dropped the hammer and made the victory. JPM would have held him up till stop 1 and I think schumi would have pitted easier.. You just never know!
I like button and JPM, Im not a schumi fan. But damn he is talented!

I can't believe how little passing for position occurs. It's like a parade. Were there any position changes not related to pit stops? Geez.
F1 is like soccer, passes like goals dont occur easily in F1. if you dont find 3 top drivers racing within 1.5 second of each other for a majority of the race exciting, then perhaps you should watch nascar, and im gonna guess you like basketball as well.
MS had a great race after he left montoya in the dust and button pitted leaving the field wide open for michael, there was nothing stopping him from winning. whether it occured by pitting or on the track, it was inevitable he would take the lead. but button was still running .5-1 second a lap ahead of montoya as well, so thats extremely impressive.
goddam sato's engine failed again. man, this guy either needs more luck or needs to drive smoother to finish a race. im still pulling for him tho to pitch in the battle to beat renault this year in constructors championship. he needs another year to mature i think, but i think despite his engine failures and offs, hes still got more talent than the other half of the F1 drivers.

Sorry, but if you want to see exciting racing, you needed to watch Rossi and Biaggi (SP?) going back and forth in Moto GP. That was amazing. Rossi, has shown why he is considered the best motorcycle road racer in the world. Watching the control they have is unreal!!!
While I love F1, it just is not real exciting racing overall.

yeah, i read that was an awesome race. its too bad i dont have access to speed at my home anymore. sucks. but even between the two, there was just 2 swaps for lead the whole race. reading how vale made the last turn pass reminds me of how he did it to sete last year, sometime in the middle of the season. passes definately make it exciting, but cant always be expected, especially with 4 wheels.
i should add that i have to "watch" the race via formula1.com live timing. so all i really get to see is the numbers, but it makes it exciting enuf to me anyway. and i was up at 5am anyway.

As soon as I saw Sato's motor take a **** with five laps to go, I shat myself in fear of Button's motor doing the same. I guess that's why he dropped his pace to 6 seconds slower per lap after Sato's episode.
I thought it was a great race overall, especially the first lap.

Yeah, the first lap of the F1 was pretty crazy. I had to laugh at after race interviews. I like JPM, but it was funny how he was outraged at Shumi running him off into the grass in a lower speed corner, but it was ok for him to do it down the straight to Ralph at 150 mph. Ralph being on his own team too. Hahaha. Just funny.

Any time you pass someone on the outside of a corner, you must take into consideration the fact the driver being passed may not see you. Though in this case I am sure MS saw Montoya. Maybe he thought Montoya would let off because he was not far enough alongside to concede the corner to him (same as if he was trying to overtake on the inside).

F1 race, damn I love to watch it just wish it was a little more competitive! JP reminds me of a little bitch and I love Williams, so glad he is going to Meclaren when they seem to have things all figured out

Haha! You guys need to read the responses to the press questions after the post race interviews. That stuff is great.

Oh, and stop whining. The race was great. You just saw an incredible driver work.

Decent race, really impressed with how strong Honda (well, Button, anyway) is looking. I heard someone say they were looking to be the "best of the rest".
Montoya is quite a whiny bitch. If you can't take the heat of the most competitive race series in the world, then maybe you should be selling peanuts in the stands. **** happens when you have half the field bottlenecked into the first few turns on the start lap. He should learn to deal with it...
Can't wait for Monaco! Only a month away...

last question is hiliarious
i enjoyed the race but i also enjoy practice and qualifying
MS let up so much at the end
also WTF Button said he was surprised MS made up so much time while he was in the pit? What was he gonna do follow button he has no traffic and the leader in the pit and u r the best driver in the world what do u do?
This is the first time all season i have seen MS work and he looked it, great race or great watching Ferarri beat the **** outta all the other teams.
My real question now is when will BAR beat Ferarri? which race my guess is Spain, Monaco, or Nurburgring. Seems those r the tracks MS is worst at still better than almost everybody tho
Also Im worried for BAR Sato engine took a crap, whats up with reliability? This was a new engine upgrade. I think they bumped the power up too much, which is sad i thought they had more room there. guess we will see in Spain

it also doesn't help that the ferrari team does it's pit stops 2-3 seconds, if not twice as fast, as most of the other teams.. definitely helps MS out some.. not to take anything away from his driving..
If JPM could've held him off awhile longer though, things definitely could've ended up differently.. Button has been doing well!

Actually they did beat Ferrari at this race (Barichello), they just haven't beaten Schumacher in a Ferrari. I think the announcers made a pretty astute comment that Barichello was probably running about at the level that Ferrari would naturally be at with a non-Schumacher driver. Rubens is no slouch, but he isn't Michael. I think the Michael and Ferrari combination is just simply fartehr ahead than a Ferrari/F1 quality par driver.
I enjoyed watching the race and seeing Button out front for awhile. It was obvious that their onle hope to win was to follow a specific strategy that would require pushing Michael hard and hope that an error or luck falls agaisnt him and in their favor. I thought is was a pretty good strategy albeit a long shot to try to make Michael beat himself because no one can beat Michael. As it turned out, traffic ended up working against BAR so they had to adjust and short pit losing any chance to make their strategy work for them, plus Michael was Michael and he made no mistakes and handled anything that comes at him with the abilities of arguably the best F1 driver ever. Even with a change from their strategy, BAR still got their second place which was the best that they could dream of...a win would be more like a hallucination.
I am not a Schumacher fan and I look forward to the day when he has more competition but I am growing in respect for the man's abilities with a car, like him or not. Maybe it is just my perception but I think he has actually become more personable and understandable in his actions rather than being the German automoton robot that i thought he was for years. When he was first coming on the scene and the Prost vs. Senna battles raged, I was rooting for that new German kid who seemed to have some great ability and was not the talented but tempermental F1 driver character. Once he became the dominating force, I look for the next guy to come along. I thought it might be Montoya but I think he is sarting to fit the talented but tempermental mode that so many others drop into.

I *do* think MS was blocking ("I didn't see him"... umm... yeah.) but it's typical. Plus, JPM couldn't come close to MS's pace so it's really a non-issue. What I DO have a problem with is the fact that the stewards wanted to "review" Alonso spinning the other Schmacher but don't "review" MS's actions? Once again, the double standard.
I don't mind MS winning (it's not my preference but I do respect him)... but I REALLY want to see a race when he can't sandbag for half of it. That's all I ask; I want him to work for it.

The FIA reviewed both incidents, and ruled that both were racing incidents. Williams didn't protest it, and it was dropped. I don't think anyone caught a reprimand.
Fact is, JPM chopped MS off at turn-in and tried to force MS off line going into the hairpin -- MS had the corner, JPM tried to bumper car MS offline. If MS was blind to JPM in that incident, then JPM was the stupid one. Moreover, He's a hypocrite because he did exactly what MS did to him, to his team mate on exit of the same corner. While JPM may have exceptional raw speed, he's an *******. And, While JPM may speak his mind, he surely doesn't practice what he preaches.

Right now, for BAR to beat Ferrari, something bad has to happen. The Ferrari has to have some kind of mechanical failure, which doesn't happen often. Ferrari could conceivably sweep the season this year. Monaco is probably their best chance if they can beat him in one lap qualifying with the same pit strategy. Then again, JB might be shy there this year after last year's shunt.

apparently sato's problem were more gear box related and seems like its a surprise he was able to get the car to last as long as he did.

They were saying Nigel Mansel (SP?) holds the record for most wins to start a season, with 5 wins in a row to begin the season. There were only about 4 people to start the season with 4 wins and MS has now done it twice.
