How to get the rear shock/spring out of a 91 crx si????
Hey, I was wondering what the method was for taking the rear shock out of a 91 crx si, i'm kind of stuck on it right now, any help would be GREATLy appreciated, thanks
u should get a "1991 crx" factory repair manual before u do any work on the car
put the car on jack stands
unbolt the strut at the bottom (clevis mount)
unbolt the strut at the top (don't remove the nut holding the spring/strut assembly together)
unbolt the lower control arm to provide clearance for removal of the strut/spring assembly as a unit
u will need a spring compressor to disassemble the strut/spring unit in order to replace the strut or spring ..

yea i was really just wondering if there was any other way to get it out without removing the control arm/sway bar, the ******* SHITTY chilton just said to "lower" the control arm
get a helm manual, then:
you dont have to remove the control arm, just remove the bolt that connects the trailing arm to the dogbone looking thing in the middle/top of the trailing arm. Then move the trailing arm down.

it's easy. Jack up the car.
Remove the two bolts from the around the strut in your hatch area (Deep 14 or 15 mm socket)
Remove the bottom strut bolt (14mm).
Remove the bolt connecting the lower arm to trailing arm (14mm).
Loosen the lower arm to rear crossmember bolt. If you have coilovers you won't need the spring compressor. If you got stock springs get the spring compressor.
The lower arm should now pivot down and the strut/spring should drop out.
This is the same thing alexdog 69 said but in more detail.
Have fun.
