sunpro tachometer help?
hey guys, i recently bought a sunpro tachometer teh other day becuz i got tired of driving by ear and looking at the mph to shift gears. its the the stock 91 hatchback motor, the problem im' having is teh green wire.....i did a search and installed it to what i found on the search....one search said wire it to teh dizzy and another said to wire it to a blue wire near the driver side tower. i did both but the meter on teh tach doesn't move. could it be my ground maybe? i have the ground wire wired to the battery wire to neg. i can't find anything other solution. any help with this? if you can supply a pic of where i need to wire it that'd be very helpful. thanks
What motor, ECU? If you do it through the dist. more then likely you wont hit it the first time. When i did mine i just had the car on, and took the tach and had it in the engine bay. Tapped into the power, and neg. and then searched for the wire until it moved.
Is the Tach set up for a 4cyl engine? Usually you have to set a switch or clip a combo of wires on the back of the tach. Heres the how-to I used on my 96, but the wires might be the same.

well i tried to do what u had undertheradar in ur tuto. but the wires were kinda different, there were 2 blue wires blue/yellow blue/white i tired to wire both but it didn't work, i'ma try to wire it now like how you did but prolly it wont work dunno tho for sure.
try shorting that long *** ground wire. You dont need to run it all the way to the battery, just find some metal near the tach and ground i there.

I had the same brand tach in my old car for a bit.
I pulled out my cluster and tapped into the blue wire behind it. Worked with no probs.

I think your problem is that your working with a 91 hatch and a stock motor and ecu. Most of what everyone told you is for 92+ cars. Try the EF/CRX forum, im sure they could help you better then us.
BUT! If the motor is newer then 92 and your using a newier ecu you might be able to tap into that. What year is the motor and ecu?
Nevermind. I just saw you did say the stock motor. Try the EF/CRX forum like i said. Good luck.
