My sister's CD player, JVC KD-S570, does not work in her car. The radio and speakers all work fine, but when a CD is put in the unit just spits it back out. It doesn't say error or anything. It started doing this about a month ago, but it was only spitting out burned CDs. Now it spits out all CDs, burned or not. Does anybody know what is causing this or how to fix it?

As far as I can tell all the wires are hooked up properly, and I have a feeling the CD player has just taken a **** and needs to be replaced.

 

Either the mechanism is bad or the laser is severely out of alignment. Just buy a new one. You can try to fix the mechanism yourself, but laser alignment requires special equipment and it runs over $100 to have the alignment done. Before you scrap it though, try unplugging the deck for a few minutes then plug it back in, just in case it just needs to be reset. I doubt that will work though.

 

Thanks, I tried to reset it and that didn't work. I also took the entire CD Player apart, but have no idea how to align the laser. So, it looks like my sister is SOL. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will work tomorrow. LOL

 

Make sure the laser is clean while its apart, you can get lens cleaning cd's but that won't work since your player spits them out.
