Default What should I offer for this "R"

Sorry I know there has been a lot of these kinds of posts but I'm really in the market for a 01' PY ITR.

There is this 2001 PY ITR with 2500 miles on it, I was wondering what should I offer on it. The car is all stock. What would be the max/resonable price to pay. I already offered $20,000 for it but it was turned down.

20 grand is reasonable for like 20k or more
a bit more should let him budge with the price , maybe 25?
peace

I don't think Im going to offer anything near 25g, that doesn't seem to be a reasonable price with them new in 01' for near 25g's. I bought my 98' in 01' for about 18g with 7000 miles on it. Let me know guys

I don't think 20k is gonna cut if the car only has roughly 2500 miles on it. 25k sounds better honestly.

Really? You would pay 25,000 for it, eventhough it costed around that price new? I don't know what I want to do.

$20K is fair.

He wont get $25K for it... unless he finds a sucker.

Did you guys forget that there are a whole bunch of numbers that are bigger than $20K and smaller than $25K?

He's suggesting that the car could sell for more than $20K (not likely, IMO) but less than $25K.

I would definately not pay 25g's for that cuz brand new its around that price. I see where the seller is coming from though with turning you down for 20g's would say some where between 21-23 at most. Thats my opinion.

I would say somewhere around $23k. Yes they were about $25k new, but you can't buy them new anymore...this is the next best thing.

I agree. $23000 sounds about like what the seller would want. There's no way that the seller can reasonably expect someone to pay the price of the car when it was brand new.

keep offering a little more, like 21,000 21,500 etc. he'll either take it or you'll **** him off and get it. I would not pay over 22,000, but thats me.

why don't you ask him how much he wants for it. then go from there. i say something betwen 20k-25k. but in reality its how much people are willing to pay for an R. i'm sue some rich kid that wants a R bad enough would pay 25k for it maybe even more.

No, you are not taking into account the extremely low mileage on this car. There's no way you would be able to get a pristine, bone stock '01 with only 2500 miles on it for that price, assuming the owner isn't an idiot. For $18K, you're typically looking at an '01 with average mileage (40-50K miles) or higher.

Maybe you would only pay $18K, but the seller should have a pretty easy time finding someone willing to pay thousands more than that...

yeah ....screw 18k.... pay him blue book and not a penny over
mint 57 chevy with only 4550 miles went for over 200k in a recent auction, but i guess the buyer was a idiot and didnt offer him $100 dollars.

anyhow...quite frankly above 20k i would imagine reasonable, hell if he wanted to sell it for MSRP, im sure he could find people to do it. not on h-t since everything is devalued here, but with 2500 miles, it could possibly go over msrp with certain folks b/c of the rarity.

i'm sure the seller is hoping for around 25k, much like others said here. If its been garaged for the last 3 years and carefully protected, your not only paying for the car, but the condition its in.

I bet $22,500 is what he is looking for. Let him know how ITR Crazy you are. Ask him what's the best deal he can give you. 2500 miles is amazing... 20K may be a little low for an itr that has hardly tasted it's v-tec.. Good luck.. Hope to see you at the expo.

I think he wants near 25g's for it. Ill try to work something out and let you guys know how it goes. I didn't want to pay over 20 for it, but I guess I have to work something out that is worthwhile for the both of us. I guess if I want one in that condition I have to pay more. Soup **** is right I guess Ill have to end up paying for condition not the car. Tonight I have to ponder if I want to spend that much on a used car.
