battery light AGAIN

Default battery light AGAIN

well on the way from houston to austin my battery light came on....so i swapped the battery with a spare i had in the garage, light went off and came on the next day ........so i swapped out the alternator with a spare i had drove the car ALL DAY then on the way home i get the battery light again.........

any suggestions?

that would be your ALT again, to take them and get them tested because they are both probably shot

first, lets get this clear, the "battery" light is NO indication of the battery, because its NOT a "battery" light, its the "charge warning" light, which indicates that for whatever reason (most likely not due to the battery) your charging system is not normal. when diagnosing, a multimeter is the sure way to go. check the voltage between the big power line at the alternator and ground, it should be over 14V. if not, check all connections, and recheck. belt tension should be checked as well. if theres nothing obviously wrong, then you just gotta swap out the alternator (again if necessary). once again, its NOT a "battery" light.
