ok, i went to the track today for the first time turbo. i only got 2 runs in but they were pretty embarrising.
run#1 14.56@109.8mph and a 2.7 0 foot
run #2 14.57@111.4mph and a 2.6 60 foot.
these were done on falkin azinis on 20psi
car weighed 2635 with me in it and i weigh 175lbs. its a 98 gsr
my problem was that i couldn't give it full throttle untill 3rd gear without spinning the tires. also i have no clue how to launch this car now. i pulled better than stock times with my car when it was stock but this is totally different. i also have an 8lb flywheel to make things worse.
please i need some help, with my trap speeds i should be in the 12s i have never talked to anyone who has drag raced a turbo honda, and i can't really find any good advice from searching.
my next purchase will be some drag radials.

well the best advice I can give you would have to be invest in a set of drag slicks. you would want 25.8.7-13 they would help alot. you can launch higher and keep it full throttle the whole time. yes you would have to do a burn out but you can learn that pretty easy with slicks. So hope the advice helped.

i don't really want to run slicks on stock alxes, thats why i am getting radials for now. but even then i don't know how to launch with turbo. how fast do you drop the clutch how much throttle to give it in first and second, what rpms to launch at. **** like that. i also had boost set to .4 bar in first, .5 in second and then .75 in third fourth and fith. by the time i am done with the run i am into fith already
i know the azinis suck for drag, its all i have right now. my radials are soposidly in transit right now

azinis are a budget road racing tire with a stiff sidewall. meaning you get tons of wheel hop. you want a softer sidewall for optimum grip when drag racing.
there is no psi were the azinis would be good for drag

turbos are hard to launch being that when the turbo hits full spool you break the tires loose like no other.
i was recently running on 23x7x13" road racing tires (partial slick with tall side wall) and even with a huge burnout which would make the tires really warm, i would burnout all through 1st and halfway down the track in 2nd.

Hey i feel your pain about the lack of traction. I just turboed my car, and went to the track for one run on my 13in all season tires (175's). I ran 13.5 @110, and first and second were a joke. My 60ft's were better, but after 60 ft, it just let loose like a bitch. I am planning on getting some drag radials, but on steelies for now. My suggestion is to not go full throttle in first and second. I didnt when i did my run, even though they let loose. Try and keep them from not slipping and leting loose. Also about the launch, i just reved it to 3500 and slipped it real quick and got a 2,2 60ft. Just make sure you dont bog down. good luck!
