CRX conversion?
Just to say hi since this is my first post, but im looking for some information on a conversion for a little project I was going to take on. I have accuired a 88 CRX and it runs fine but need some work. Anyway my little bother had a 2000 civic ex that was stolen and recovered, basically the car is nothing but a motor, tranny and frame the body was cut up pretty bad. I was wondering if there is a kit theat we can take this drivetrain out of the civic and use it in the CRX. If anyone knows of this being done link would be great,I know there are swap kits out there for the CRX but i dont think this is a real popular swap but we need to do something with what we have to use. Thanks for the space.... Jason
I'm guessing the '00 EX is VTEC? If so, you'll have to add wiring for the vtec solenoid and so forth...also updating to Multi Point Fuel Injection....
I could've gotten a full setup (motor, axles, ecu, front brakes, yada yada) off a '97 Civic SOHC VTEC for $500..but didn't have the funds.
Anyway, hope you get the help you're looking for and good luck with your swap. Let us know how it all turns out. Sucks your bro's car was stolen in the first place, but bad things that happen usually have a silver lining. You're lucky the theives didn't take the engine/trans/etc. and you have a sort of ideal engine swap. Most guys are going either DOHC or SOHC ZC or JDM B16A or B18 or even more "hybrid" (Like LS/VTEC or Mini-me's).

If your CRX is an Si model and everything's in good mechanical condition, I would recomend just using his head and IM. If your CRX is a DX or HF, then use his entire engine and start looking for a 89-91 CRX Si or Civic Si or EX tranny
Either way you'll get some good info from the site above.

I think he's trying to be budget-minded by using the parts he's got

mpfi conversion isn't too hard:

and you don't have to change hubs at all, use the axles that are currently in the car.
