Default 7th Generation accords question on SC's

the 7th generation accord is an accord built in 2002+. they come in either V6 or in I4. my question is are there any after market turbokits for the 7th generation I4 accord, and if so how much PSI are we looking at for a reliable daily driver. i've also heard that many accords even when turbo'd running 8PSI are still only running in the 14' margin and stock accords are only 16'. oh and if you guys can tell me the serial # for these engines that would be helpful. would the V6 and I4 engine be classified in the "F" type engine. or are they under the new "K" type like the new civics and the RSX. please help me. im new to the accord. ive always been a integra guy. but this car is what my parents got me so i have to outlet my need for speed in a platform that im not very familiar with. oh and the purpose of this car is a daily driven mustang SVT eater. . please tell me now if this dream is impossible. i dont have a very hugh budget and im not really concerned about waranty so please any ifo will be great.

I'm guessing you drive a 2002. If so, there aren't too many kits out there. I believe FMAX has one. You'll probably run only about 8-10 psi max. Unless you change the internals and do a lot of work you won't be able to make much boost. There are a few I've seen that have hit 13's but most won't get you out of 14's.

V6 is a J30? The I4 is a F23A.

Are you serious? Do you really even know about cars? Because 90% of Hondas can barely keep up with a modded Cobra when they themselves are heavily modded. Now if you don't have a big budget you'll be lucky to get into the 15's.

Ferrari Killer? Come on now.

sorry about the confusion but like i said this isn't the platform im familiar with.
i know more on integras. i know that stock they can be 15 second cars.but with a good kit. the B18c1 GSR engines can run low 13 or high 12 with a little over 11 PSI. i guess it wasn't a very good margin of comparison. my budget isn't high enough to even consider racing a SVT yet. those cars are mid 12's. but thats why im trying to find just a decent turbo to start me off. i was thinking along the lines of T3/T04 turbo from tubonetics, a exhaust manifold (i dont know any markets that designed one yet for my car), a waste gate, some 540cc injectors and a turbo timer, to manage it. but i haven't found a kit for it so im asking you guys. my budget is whatever i can get from work and my parents. around 2-3 thousand. so tell if a kit is even remotely possible.

nah im using a 2004 accord. thats why im not sure if theres even an aftermarket for these cars yet.

Last time I checked 02 was 6th

my bad well i thought an accord from 2002+ was 7th generation

I haven't seen any aftermarket kits yet and not really expecting to see one for a while. Not many people buy Brand New Accord's to put Turbo's on them. If you want more HP, I would have given your parents the $3000.00 to get the V6 model and drive off the lot with 240 HP vs. the 160 HP (I know that's all hindsight).

As far as being a SVT Mustang Eater, try bringing your standards down to a Altima eater (4cyl. is a bit more in HP -175, but I think the Altima is heavier due to the 4 doors) or Solara eater (4cyl. is close in HP -157), just watch make sure you don't pull up behind a V6 model though .

The fact is, our Accords are heavy cars compared to the Integra's and Civic's,
more HP is used to get that weight moving... Just remeber you are in the Luxury car of the Honda Lineup...

I love my Accord and I am using the $ I have on hand to get what has already been produced in the aftermarket for the 7th Gen Accord's, that might be a better start than waiting on a Turbo Kit, and it will keep you busy in the mean time.

OT: I have started to work on mine and can share more info if you like, just shoot me an email.

Sell your car. You are expecting way too much out of what is suppposed to be an everyday car. Do yourself a favor and buy a Mustang, Trans Am, or Camaro if you wanna keep up with a Mustand Cobra.

Trying to mod an accord to those levels is a huge waste of money.

I agree, I need my car as a daily driver, but I still want to have fun (don't want to grow up). If I wanted a car to tear up pavement, I would have spent my $25,000.00 and bought an RSX Type-S, or Civic Si with that money and had some left over to throw on a Turbo Kit... So goes the life of a family man...

If you feel this way then you are not in the right forum. There are plenty of accords on here that are very fast. And furthermore that is not the attitude we appreciate here.

Here is my reasoning behind being on this board.

I like the way the 6th gen looks. But i also understand that accords are heavy cars and realize that what it would take to make my accord fast would be a huge waste. What is worng with my reasoning; like a car cause of the looks, reliability, and the fact that you can add on some basic stuff to increase your performance a little?

I believe the problem is that people expect they can get their cars as fast as say a mustang GT. Sure you can, but are you gonna spend some money? yes a lot.

sorry if i came off in a negative manner.

How is it a waste if that is what a person wants? Making accords fast is not impossible. 2point6 has a 13 second full interior all motor accord so it is not impossible to make an accord fast.
