The tranny has about 30k on it. Usually I am able to shift up normally with the typical 3rd gear grind going, but sometimes it seems like when upshifting i have to wait a split second to shift because the next gear is blocking me for that split second. Now the real problem shows up. Recently the tranny wont let me downshift at all. It has that blocking feel. I changed the transmission fluid but that didnt seem to help. I'm guessing the problem are my syncros? does that sound right or not?

Well if it is the syncros whats a ballpark price im looking at? and what are some good shops in LA with reasonable prices. Thanks in advance.

you can find some H-T mechanics for cheap labor and some of them willing to come to your place for extra $$$.

It might also be your clutch.

The 3rd/4th gear syncros are very easy to change provided you have good mechanics and a helms.
