Default Should I paint my ceramic header?

it looks fine now....no rust, no cracking.
but i plan to keep the header on as long as i keep the R..basically forever.

so i was wondering if it may help to just go ahead a give it a few thick coats of high temp paint...probably black. i don't care about looks. i just want it to be further protected.

thanks.

Wait until the header has been used and abused.

Even high-temp or "ceramic" paint won't last very long on the header. Your best bet if you want to preserve the header is to send it out and have it professionally coated.
