Default emissions testing... did you blow clean?

Yeah so I am going to try to pass emissions here, which is gay... mo should not have this ****. I luckily have a hand up on them cause I use to be a certified inspector for them a few years ago.. but I need a new ecu first for chipping before I can do that.

Anyways... SERIOUSLY who has been able to get past emissions turbocharged. Did you have a catalytic converter? what fuel management, boost, etc, etc?

So no one has emissions tested?

Cause I bet I can not only pass... but I bet I could do it without the catalytic converter.

I agree...go do it and tell us how you did it..because I've never heard of anyone doing it before and passing.

whatever your reply was so generic... I am not hosting a contest... you see me giving away prizes. how is asking for input on a subject a contest.

I was asking about people emissions experiences... although I am not worried about my own coming up.

and if you have never heard of anyone turbocharged passing emissions before... your sadly mistaken.

In the counties in GA [metro ATL anyhow] there is no visual inspection, only a sniffer. I haven't gone to get tested while boosted yet, but I don't see why you couldn't pass turbocharged if you have a good tune. Also, every time I got tested, they never really wound out the RPM's, so I don't know if they'd even really get into boost.

I've failed 4 times now. I'm running a 3 inch carsound cat. I'm going to try to tune it to a perfect 14.7 across the board before I go again. If that doesn't work then I guess it's time for a new cat.

I datalogged one of the tests and they took my car up to about 4psi. The noob driving my car didn't know how to drive.

twkdCD595: got any tips on passing emissions with a turbo car?

well if you put your stock cat back on, that would help alot. Here in CA, you probably won't pass unless you have the stock cat on.

Ok, I passed emmisions with my turbo teg. We have no visual, I simply mated the stock exhaust to the downpipe, Cat and all. Warmed up the engine, and explained to the kid not to go into Boost because you will run rich if you go into boost.

I passed with better results then my 88 Accord.
