Default Anyone have experience with a Pace Setter exhaust?? Particluarly 4th gen Accords

Hey guys, I am just researching things here. I have an H23 swap coming out of my Prelude soon. H22 is going in. The H23 is in perfect condition so I think I might buy a 90-93 Accord and swap the motor into it so my brother can use it.

Anyway, the car that I am looking at, 90 Accord EX coupe, needs a new exhaust. I am just looking for a new cat-back that will sound close to stock and look as close to stock as possible. Any thoughts on this exhaust?? I am not looking for the most performance. I am mainly looking for a cheap exhaust replacement that is quiet. I saw this exhaust on eBay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1. Is this an exhaust that will fulfill my criteria??

Thanks

Andy

I installed a pace setter header on my accord when I had the f22 in it. You certainly get what you pay for. The quality was pretty shoddy, and I would question any performance gain at all. The paint burned off after about 20 minutes of driving, and it smoked like a bandit emiting a foul, paint burning smell.

I would recommend you go with something else, even an OEM system until you want/need a better system. I bet that pacesetter system is going to loud and sound bad also.

IMO for some exhaust you would be saving yourself the money and the embarassment if you just went with something like a magnaflow muffler. Thats what I have on my 4th gen with 2.5" mandrel bent tubing cat back and its a low deep tone. As far as header, the EX comes with a 4-2-1 header and is very comparable to any aftermarket one, I would just save your money. If you do go with a aftermarket header go with greddy or the like...you get what you pay for.

If you would like to see pics of my exhaust click my link below for pics (unless you want me to ***** up my ride i your thread )

Cool, thanks for the advice.

I have a Thermal Classic on my Prelude and he does not like it at ALL. He doesn't want an exhaust that is loud or looks rediculous. I don't blame him.

He just wants a good solid car to get to work in. I am going to change the water pump and timing belt on the H23, use my newer spare axles, a set of 5th Gen Prelude low mileage shocks and springs, and my 4th Gen Prelude wheels and tires. Now I have to find a new header (I might try out the eBay headers that are DC Sports style just for the hell of it) and an exhaust. I will see if I can get an OEM exhaust.

Once all these parts are changed, the car shouldn't need anymore maintanence.

Thanks for the help guys.

If you want some really good mandrel bent tubing pm kteller8 or go to http://www.kteller.com/store for some good pipe and great prices.
