Default SOHC VTEC Head swap with D18 block possible?

Hi all, I would like to know if a SOHC D15 vtec/ D16Z6 head could fit onto a 1992 Integra D18 block. Has anybody tried this? Appreciate all the info and help I can get. Thanks!

Cheers!

It's not a B18. A D18 from a 1992-1993 Integra. It's rare but it is around.

I believe most D blocks can interchange their heads from DOHC non-VTEC to a SOHC VTEC. Few of my friends have done it with the ZCs. Just wondering if it would also work with the D18 block. It's from a 1992-1993 Integra but the engine is difficult to locate.

It's definitely a D18. So far I can only mange to find parts for the engine such as clutches : http://www.vantech.com.mx/engl...a.htm
but nothing on the engine specs so far.

If you can't find specs on the engine, and you can't locate one, why would you even ask?

That looks like it might be a typo for the b18a dohc motor from a DA

Or maybe an even bigger one for the b17 DA GSR

Most of the time people ask when its parts they can actually acquire...

Don't think it's a typo. The early Integras where I'm from are using the D18. The local scrapyards just don't have it in stock but can actually try and get the engine for me in Japan. Need some info on the possibility of a head swap before I actually get the engine.

well you wana fuckn help us out and at least tell us were you are from.

in the USA there was NEVER a 1.8 litter SOHC stock from honda.

but in japan some of the lower model DA tegs had a carb'd SOHC motor this could be one of those i dunno

87-89 Integra had ZC D-series on it and 90-93 has B-series on it.. a D18 is definitely a typo or else that engine must had come from out of this planet... FYI the only other engine for the DA Integras are from Japan which are B16s XSI engines... so all in all there are 3 types of engine for 90-93 DA Integras the B17s GSR B18s and JDM B16 XSI... and no dseries SOHC dont fit wid a bseries DOHC longblock...HTH

87-89 were not ZC in the US. they were D series. looks similar to DOHC ZC, but not quite.

D18 was a TYPO...you have a B18A and can NOT put a SOHC vtec head on there, put a B16 head on that and end this thread.

Awww...much better now...

There is no D18. End of story. Like stated above...90-93 integras only came with "B"18 and "B"17 motors in the US. In japan they also came with...thats right..."B"16 engines. 86-89 Integras came with DOHC "D"-series motors...also know as ZC motors.

That would be some **** there...1.8L SOHC stock. Of course you can make one through JG Engine Dynamics. They have a 1.8L build for D-Series motors...costs an extra 300 or 600 though...making it about 2,600 for built 1.8L D-Series.
