Some Swap guidance,please!!
hello!
Well i have finally decided that i will do a swap on my 93 EG hatch. I have no experience with a swap what so ever, so i would like some help from you fellow pros on what you guys would think would be a good starting point to get my feet wet. I was orginally thinking of doing a H22 swap but have come across a few write ups that have stated it is a hard swap. Now i have come down to think maybe a B16A2 would be a good start? what do you guys think
If anyone has had past experience with this swap would you mind telling me how it went and what level of diffaculty it was? Im trying to find a good fitting motor with minimal Wiring etc.
any help would be great!! SORRY IM A n00b

Best help we can give you is researching and making the decision for yourself. Only you know your budget, limits and expenses of what you wish to swap in..
The more knowledge you have of this, the better choice you will make -- instead of someone just telling you to get something and give you a bill to pay.

the b16 is a good starting point, in fact it is what almost everyone starts with. it is a very straight forward swap (bolt in) i do not reccomend the H22 swap (just not a fan of the H22) if you have the money do a ITR swap. same work as b16

Well the only real issue that im worried about it the wiring. Im not very excited when i have to wire in anything so thats where i stand pretty much.
From what i hear i can use my stock CX wiring harness with the B16 with a Few modified acces. SO what is all needed to wire in the H22?

What's it going to be used for ?
if it's for street use and your not going to "upgrade" to a mugen chip -
IE keep the stock redline and drive it most of the time like a normal human being and only want pick up then the h22 is an excellent choice.
the 2 major set backs are no AC and considerable more weight in the front which is bad for handling, though it is possible to being the weight very close to stock
personally I dig the b16 becuase it's very light and will run a long time pushed hard

H22. as far as no AC and PS. that can be fixed there are kits that allow you to keeps those. Makes a lil more work but if you want them then you can still have them. As to the weight it is around 175lbs more then stock. not that big of a deal. put some big subs in the back and your battery and youll be closer to the stock weight distrabution. i will be doing this swap this summer. here are some links that i used.

Well this car is going to be used for street/Strip. Yes this will be a daily driver but i will attend the local track and will be out racing as much as i can. So yet reliabitly is a factor here.
What do you guys think of a D15B VTEC Swap with a good build? to run a Higher shot of n20? I mean for the cost of a B16A swap i can have the D15B Vtech motor anb do a full build for around close to the same price.. What have the stock D15B crannks held up to?
