tell him the headgasket blew recently, but you will replace it with a new OEM one installed professionally.

And you should do that as soon as possible, so others looking at your car will be able to drive it.

I guess you'll have to tell him it's not really driveable right now.

your car is worth considerably less now. id stop running it at all before you blow the engine. that white smoke is actually steam from water getting into your combustion chamber = very very bad.

shame on you for trying to "temporarily fix" the headgasket so you can sell the car. People like you are why carfax was invented.

yo man, that's messed up. It's not hard to fix....get yourself a cheap Chilton's manual and an afternoon and you can replace it. Or, give him the car for a lot cheaper

You also might have ruined it anyway. The next thing to happen is a spun rod bearing. Go ahead and make plans to change your oil a couple of times to insure all the water is out.

That is if you are really going to fix it.

You said its overheating, so umm yeah, you probably warped the head, so the right thing to do would be to tell the buyer, if he decides not to buy it, then oh well, don't lie to the guy.

thanks for all the great advise guys.

been here for a year, read all about how everybody flames people and ****, but it's jsut out of fun.

but I've never seen people call other members cooksucking liars before though.

I posted that msg because alot pf people are looking at the car, and I had appoinments with them, and I don't want them to go see a other cars and buy it cause mine isn't in drivable condition. car the car was in perfect , but as soon as I put it i the auto trader it went.

I fixed the problem. all is well
