Hey Balled S2K, was that you that won the ITA race Sunday at Summit Point in that blue CRX? If so you must've passed the 240sx in turn 10 of the last lap because the last time they went thru the carousel he was still leading.

Yup...that was me. Unfortunately, Nate Brasz had some engine troubles once again (had a coolant problem w/ 2 laps to go in MARRS 9 last year), and was getting progressively slower the last few laps.
Since he was throwing either coolant or oil starting at T1 of the last lap and was starting to slide around in it (he did a real nice tank slapper in T3) I thought it was better to pass him at T8/coming up the hill rather than in the carosel. Luckily, it was the last lap as McClary finally got around that black 240Z and was just a few car lengths back at the finish.
It was my first MARRS win and I'll take it. There are five or so of us that are all very evenly matched. I think it's gonna be a very exciting year in ITA.
Admittedly, all the 240SX's have a lot more stright line than I do right now. I got killed on the start by Nate and any ground I made up braking into T1 or coming down the chute was lost going back up the hill and down the main straight. I've got a few nice exhaust leaks (Thank to some stellar welding at Curry's / Sterling!
) that I hope to have cleared away before the double at VIR.
Like most everyone else, I was running the new Hoosiers this weekend and they are absolutely amazing and everthing you've heard. Not having run them before Sat. qualifying, I'm running slightly higher cold pressures w/ the new tires and they were grippy w/ no falloff thru the entire race.

Well congrats on the win, being a CRX fanatic I love seeing them win the ITA races. Did McClary get a new car or did he just paint it, he drove a black CRX last year and now a yellow one and if I remeber right he consistently finished second behind Evans.
He just had it painted "Viper Competition Yellow" in the offseason. He'd never heard of the Y-49 Curse. Given what happened to him in the Sat. AM qualifier (Rookie in 240SX blew his motor in the chute--mayhem ensued), he must have an appt. w/ a body/paint shop in his future. It's a testament to how fast he drives that car, seeing that it looked like a banana in more ways than one.
