Cali guys: What is a good CARB legal exhaust for turbo?
I tried searching but havent found anything really on carb legal exhaust. Im getting harassed by cops already with my exhaust but i just tell them its legal and they believe me but one cop wont and ask for a carb sticker. So i want to get a legal exhaust for when i go turbo.
I looked on the greddy site but they dont say much about being 50 state legal and i looked on Apexi and they said that there sound is about 7 decibels (what is the limit in cali?)
TIA!

i never understood why a cat-back exhaust system would have to have a CARB number on it. they have absolutly ZERO to do with smog. now that i have seen that CA agree's with that it makes alot more sense.

That's so treu. When I took my Civic to get it refereed, the technician actually told me that you could have no exhaust and it wouldn't matter as long as there is a cat there. I think the exhaust issue is raised because of the noise level instead of the actual pollutionit causes. Go figure

ya and now they actaully have rules and regulations, with a standerdized test to deal with the noise part of it

All it is is noise. When you have it CARB legal it just means that its under the noise level. Which sucks because some of use cant go to a muffler shop and pick up a aftermarket one without having trouble. And they dont give you a carb sticker (trust me i know

This isint smog legal but its on my wish list.
A e-cut out with stock exhaust. The only way the police will be able to tell is if your driving with it open(wich would be reallly really loud) or if you get pulled over for something else and they pop your hood. But you can still locate it under the engine so it will be hard to see.
Like I have read and heard from other people. The best exhaust for turbo is no exhaust. A e-cut can accomplish this.
The only draw back there will no inbetween lound as hell and spool quick or quiet as stock and spool slow.
EDIT: Full Race has some pics of there pre fabbed e-cut systems on there web site.

not true the CARB sticker on exhaust (or carb number is only for immisions regulations). that is why i never under stood why they made it nessacary to have a CARB number for an exhaust.
the system they now have in place, is the system that takes car of the noise limit. befor they had the law in place but no official way of testing it, and no way to keep you clear of getting another ticket.
and again many "CARB" legal exhaust don't meet the deciable limit.
