He doesn't have to use Mobil 1. And notice he said Km, not miles. He's from Canada, eh. Use whatever 5w30 oil you prefer and a Wix filter. If you have Napa stores in Canada, the filters they sell that say Napa are made by Wix.

Use oil specifically for high mileage cars and a FRAM filter will work, 5W-30? I use Mobil 1 15W-50 fully synthetic with FRAM filters, hasn't failed me yet. Edit, didn't realize you're in Canada, not sure if the products are different.

I'd run NORMAL (read NOT synthetic) 5W30 motor oil and the filer of your choice.

I personally run 5W30 in all of my cars with O.E Honda filters. they are the new type that are smaller and carry part number 15400-PLM-A01.

I only run synth in my R-powered hatchback, and that's only because the previous owner already did.

IMO synth is a waste of money. As long as you change your oil every 3,000 miles or so you should not need any "miracle" oils of any kind.

BTW:

Is this a 92-95 CX?

If so it takes 3.5 U.S quarts.

oil filter should ALWAYS be Honda filter... air and fuel are not that important but oil is VERY important...

Use Honda filters and you will thank us...

5w30 or 10w40 Mobil1 or Shell will do the great job...

Amount is aprox. 3.5 liters incl. filter...

i always get a new drain plug and crush washer from honda also. and make sure the o ring on the oil filter comes off with it, and does not stick to the block.

http://www.c-speedracing.com has a howto for an oil change.

id run a dino 10w-30 b/c they are more shear stable than a 5w-30 dino. if doesnt take that much shear before a regular 5w-30 becomes a 20wt.

Use some QuakerState action from CT with their filter, works fine for me. Or, if you want to change to synthetic prehaps, just get Formula1 with their filter. Works just fine for me and I do about the same distance per change with 289K on my 92.
