I just want to know the reason why so many peoples cars blow up once they are boosted? please tell me why you think YOUR car blew up and list your setup, fuel management, etc...

Stock Block h22
Fmax Kit
12:1 FMU
Inline Fuel Pump
290cc injectors (obd2 prelude)
Running 7psi with the DeltaCreep hitting 8

Ring lands when, loss of compression in chamber 3 or 4 (long time now)

Not really a blow, but it went; enough for a rebuild.

stock b18c1

vafc **** hack

3 of 4 pistons ringlands were broken, had major blowby.

the reason i think it blew was the fact that factory honda pistons suck. it lasted a year but i think in the long run all stock pistons wont hold up. plus i had a shity fuel management setup.

I wasn't paying attention to the coolant overflow and the air filter sits right behind that and sucked some coolant in. Def. a user error

Stock B18c
Drag gen 2 drag kit.
FMU

Turboed my GSR teg back in 1997. Turbo hondas were still pretty new back then, at least where I was at. It was me and my friends first turbo car so we didn't know too much about it we just learned as we went. Well in the end we cracked 3 ring lans at 15 psi. After that we ended up putting forged internals but due to our lack of knowledge we could never get the car to run right. After selling the car I quit hondas for a while.

After a long break my friends and I started gettin back into FI. The great thing now is that there is so much information on the internet, I can finally understand why things went wrong. So now after 5 year break i'm back.

In the end not enough knowledge blew up my car. Who knew you had to add more fuel when you turned up the boost.

8.8-9psi on stock 240cc injectors and 12:1 fmu on a b16a2 with a Drag kit... max out the injectors and cracked the ringlands on 3 of the 4 pistons!

b18c1, t3/t4, 3"dp to stock cat and rsr ex mag exhaust. I was using dsm 450's and an afc. 6.5 psi for 3 months, ran fine, got greedy, bought a Boost controller ran 10psi, spiked to around 14 psi and cracked all 4 ringlands along with sleeve #3. Dam it sucked.

Ran my stock SOHC at 10psi til it blew up. Replaced it with a built motor.

Blew up on the autox course at 7000 rpm it was beautiful!

Sleeved, stock bore GSR motor with 9:1 CP's, crower rods.

Melted down some pistons as my wastegate stuck closed and I overboosted.

Car too low I guess? Well not really car to low but shitty *** road and banged the oil pan which damaged the oil pick up which in turn starved #3 and messed up a bearing!

How is that for dumb? oh well led to my current build up!

Cracked sleeved block from Leitner Perfomance in Markham, Toronto. Don't ever get them to sleeve your block. They are known as a bunch of hackers!

Fully built ls/vtec, weisco pistons, eagle rods etc. Hondata w/boost. It happened on the dyno you can imagine what the guy who sleeved it thought was the problem? You guessed it "It's the tuners fault."

Reason it cracked? Weak material used for sleeves. He says different but you can ask ohh about 8-10 others that had the exact same problem!

hMm, Curious, can you guys anwser this for me.. See my Sig for setup specs..

Im running all that, but don't have my 440cc dsm injectors yet..

Would it be safe to run 7.25psi boost on stock injectors? Stock fuel pump....but have B&M fuel regulator, running UBERDATA as fuel management.. Thanks.. SOrry if im off topic, but Im sure this thread is to help avoid Deadly BLows. -

Don't even think about boosting on stock injectors. Just thinking about it can cause your motor to blow... seriously.

Stock B18C1

I had reset the AVCR and forgot to change the duty setting on the lo-boost setting, I ended up running a Mustang on the highway from 4th gear rolling...... while holding 14-15psi o the stock MAP sensor

Ringlands on 2, 3 and 4 were completley decimated, 2 and 4 partially melted with 2 nice holes on the skirt on #4
