Default Hasport shift linkage Question

B18a in a 89 civic with HCP mounts. Don't really want to cut and weld the teg ones. Will the Hasport shift linkage work??

I have heard of problems but i have also heard that it is OK. I have a HCP linkage if you want to trade for your Hasport.
