Bent Valves?
Well last night we're finishin my swap, we put a new distributor in, new plugs, and we're getting awesome spark in 1-4 cylinders. We crank the car over and no start, we're scratchin our heads because we have fuel and spark but still nothing.
So we pull the plugs and they smell of fuel, we do an oil change and notice fuel drain out after the oil. After we put some fresh oil in we try starting the car again, same results.
We then assume it's a timing issue, take the timing belt cover off and sure thing the timing is off...real bad. It's off about 45 degrees and both cams are off by different degrees. My friend assumes bent valves to why we're not getting it started
What can anyone else tell me...is my motor toast, please help

Definatly set the timing back to spec and then try it again.
You'll know right away whether or not you've bent any valves.
good luck

Fix the timing as stated before...The car will start bent valves or not. Well that kind of depends on how much you guys were cranking on it.
I doubt you bent any....But you will notice by how it idles

the timing is why you couldnt get it started. just put everything at tdc and it should fire up
