If a carbon fiber splitter were available, similar to the one Realtime uses, would you be willing to purchase one?

I'd rather save for a titanium muffler.. Most people only see the back of our cars anyway

is the c/f splitter just a larger more molded version of our lip? the c/f is painted up in those pictures correct? wonder how it would hold up on the streets. another thing that interested me was the arc lipspoiler on the usdm front, that looks pretty bad ***.

 

I think the purpose of a front splitter (at least the one RTR uses) is to minimize the air going underneath the bumper to lessen turbulence. I'm not sure if the ARC splitter has the same function.

I think the splitter RTR uses (pic above) is fiberglass or urethane, I doubt it's CFRP

It will depend on:
a) How much will it cost?
b) Is it an EXACT copy of the RTR version?
c) Is it easy to remove and install in the track?
d) Is it strong enough to withstand poundings on the curb and asphalt?

 

As long as its strong, and functional I will take one, Doesnt matter to me if its CF FRP Or Urethane

It would be cool, but I would want to be able to paint it to match the car. So, CF wouldnt be the way I would go. It would be to pretty to paint then

I would buy one depending on price of course. I think it makes the front bumper
aggresive but it also takes away from the sides...like in pic one...looks kinda funny with a front bumper to the ground and the sides still high up...I think I would want
some kind of side skirts as well to offset the lower front end.

waste is an understatement. How many of us really do drive on racetracks. Half the roads in the u.s. suck. If you want to be pretty for that 1 year or so go ahead and buy it. You think it will help your handling going over 100mph? Sure go ahead and waste your money. You think it will give you 20hp be my guest. I wouldnt purchase a dam thing my R didnt have from the factory that is now of course. My sig says otherwise.

i do think a few guys here Compete their cars also.
I dont see any harm in swapping the things when youre on and off the track. IMO its NOT a waste. It IS functional. Aerodynamics. Going at high speeds and taking turns at high speeds requires the car to be stable. I highly doubt realtime put it on their cars for no reason. Therefore would you call it a waste? no. Now a Focus muffler, it must be really special to put on your car because you wouldnt purchase a damn thing unless it was straight from the factory. Now how much tuning do you have done with those adjustable cam gears? According to your ET, not much. Damn that mugen header? that about the best mod you have on your car and the only mod that DOES something. Now talk about waste. Please if you dont have anything good to add, dont add anything at all.

this is coming from the guy with a "Focuz" muffler dont talk to us/them about wasting their money.

 

I like the look of it, but wouldn't get one...not practical for street use and I like the way the stock front looks already

Maybe that's what's causing the loss in power.....but in all fairness, whatever...everybody is entitled to their opinion.

I for one side with Goch here.....saying **** dun work is hella funny though.....
