Default Do you run a cat, gutted, test pipe, etc.? Curious question

I have a gutted cat that I throw on for the turbo...but I like to keep my exhaust noise down and it seems to silence it a good amount. My main reason for putting the gutted cat on, is that I've heard running rich will clog your cat. I think this time I might run the cat, but I'm curious how many people here run with or without a cat. I can't imagine the power difference being that much, I'm just curious if anyone has had problems with it clogging b/c of (usually) how rich some honda turbo cars run.

Currently running an AutoZone cat. When I bolt up my 3" setup, I have a 3" Hi-Flow Carsound cat that I'll be using.

That's not a bad price. Was it made for your car or a universal one? For some reason I can't go to that site.

Soon to be installed 3.5" vband downpipe all the way back to a 3.5" Apex'I GT-Spec muffler. I figured since it's not my DD anymore I can afford to go bigger/louder

I have a cat, but I won't after this weekend. I think it's starting to get plugged up, so I'm gonna pull it off and throw on an o2 simulator...which should be coming in the mail.

Going to a test pipe is worth 10-20 horsepower on a 300 horsepower car. That's a damned good reason by itself.

True but ive hear rumors of not passing emisions (ny does a visual inspection for the cat) and i believe there is a large fine for not having one,

a lot of shops here in pk just check the normal stuff like turn signals, tires and headlights.

ive been pulled over nearly 30 times with a modified exhaust and not one cop has looked under my car (its too low anyway )

btw, where is that sparkly crx?!

I purchased an Ebay Test Pipe, and I could actually feel the less restrictive air flow through the pedal.. It did make a noise level increase slightly..

Gutted cat. If someone could find me a cat where the core doesn't meltdown on a turbo app, then I'll buy it.
