ok.. i'm in the process of redoing my whole exhaust system and i'm trying to figure out what will be the best header to go with it.

i have a good deal on a jdm dc 4-1 header (trade my kicker comp w/ box and $40).. but i don't think i'm going to go through with it because of the modification i'll have to do to the front cross member. also i've read that the jdm dc 4-1 isn't going to be too great for the b18a1 power band and it hangs too low. as of now my car only has suspension work, exterior work, and no motor work (intake doesnt count =P) although after i do my exhaust system my next step will be either a skunk2 IM or OBD2 LS IM and then after a couple months a pNp head.

what would be the best header to go with and/or what would you guys recommend? keep in mind the IM upgrade soon and pNp head later on.

hmm while i'm at it i might as well get everyone's opinion on my exhaust system setup. i plan on running 2 1/4 crush or mendrel piping all the way from the head to an exhaust with a 2.5 inlet.

do you guys think the 2.5 inlet exhaust is gonna affect the smooth 2 1/4 flow?

but if i end up going with the header with a 2.5 collector i was thinking about going 2 1/2 crush bend all the way.

would 2 1/2 be too big of a setup?

i dont think the 2.25 piping matters with the 2.5 inlet. alot of people have 2.25 header down pipes to 2.5 piping and it doesnt matter. i was thinking about 2.25 thermal cat back and my header down pipe is only 2".

 

The DC 4-2-1 2 piece is a fanominal piece. integra piping isnt that bad as long as you have a Glasspack style muffler, and a 'high-flow' cat.
