To Build or Not to build and swap the FU** out of it
So I have a 94 Delsol Si. D16z6 with I/H/E and a 7lb Flywheel. I Love my car, but Im planning on buying a S2K in 2 years (Ill be 25 and my insurence will go down again YEAH!!!) Anyway, Ive been thinking about either Swapping a B16 or B18c into my delslow, but I know Im going to be using the delsol as a daily driver within 2 years (Actually using it for driving, and not playing) So I was think maybe I should just build the D16 instead.
The Question:
Should I swap in a B16b, B18C or should I build the motor? I want the engine to be faster, and since it will be a daily driver I need it to be reliable.
Can I build a D16z6 to be faster then a (BPU) B16b, (BPU) B18c and still have it be reliable?
I whoop on Civic Si's right now, which I find extremely fun considering I only have a sohc.
(the car has been lightened thats how I can do that)
Comments, suggestions, questions?

a stock B18C will be more powerful than you're likely to make the z6, and with stock honda reliability. Seems like a no-brainer to me
Build it.
Same prices you'd spend for a swap you could build it. So either way really, all depends on your preference. I'd build it just for the experience/fun. Just spending $1000 on headwork would get you the results of a stock b16. Nice agressive cam in there. I hear the zex z6 cam is pretty good. And of course, exospeed has tons of info kicking around the board and they're site about building a sohc.
It's fun having a fast sohc when everyone else is saying "swap or you'll never get any power" screw dohc (and screw vtec haha, but you already have it so might as well keep it)
But again, you'll spend the same either way.

well, heres my advice.
Many people are so caught up in wanting to build for HP and be the fastest. The thing is, someone will always be faster... so pick something that you will have fun with that YOU will like and that wont give you any problems and inconveniences.
both the B and D are good platforms to work on. Yes they do cost the same to build up but results are different. You have a better platform with the B in making more power EASIER. but the D is good too for building up. but you'll have to do more to the D to make it faster than the B.
Its all a matter of preference on which way you go. Choose according to your budget and what you'll use the car for.
also FYI: ya we do alot of D-series stuff and it shows on our site... but don't forget we are also knowledgeable in the H and B series as well.
Remember, this Honda/Acura Performance is not only B-series... theres also D-series, non-vtecs and singe cams.

you could save that money you'd spend on a reliable swap and just keep your engine stock...on the del sol then save 8K on gas from driving faster/the swap/price of replacement parts/wear and tear on vehicle and then you can put that money you get extra into investing in something that is going to do good no matter what...then you'd have a ton of money for a big down payment on that s2000 or some play money to build that
