Default Intake Package for top end

Wassup guys, Ok I have a Skunk2 intake mani, im getting a 3 inch mandrel bent short ram intake off ebay, my TB will be bored over to about 64mm, question is, this so far is more of a top end package, are the skunk2 cams a good complement to this kit? I want more of a decent mid range, but just awesome top end, and I plan to upgrade the valve train so I can rev to like 85-8700 or so.

Can I go witht he ITR valve train, or Skunk2, etc. The reason I ask, is my question is a little too specific for the parts I have listed to search.

Oh I also want really good throttle response. Thanks

For any cams, you should run the manufacturers recommended valvetrain. I think you will do better up top, but I recommend raising the compression a bit to help out. a Spoon headgasket is a good start if you don't want to tear down the block.

skunk2 cams are nearly identical to the itr cams so you can use the itr valvetrain with it.

It depends heavily upon which Skunk2 cams they are. With any Skunk2 choice, however, they are more agressive than ITR/CTR cams and will not not perform optimally unless higher compression can be obtained. About the valvetrain issue, Skunk2's Stage 1 cams should work with stock ITR valvetrain, however I don't recommend doing so because something as simple as a misshift will spell certain doom for the engine. Skunk2's Stage 2 cams will require upgraded valvetrain, period.
