Default Regarding Qualcomm stadium

There are rumors it (the parking lot, not the large obstruction in the middle) is going away, to be replaced by a parking structure. Any discussion of alternatives, ones closer then Buttonwillow (a mere 180 miles or so away)?

I just don't know what the heck is wrong with us Americans. We have all this space, and are supposably car crazy, yet I sure don't see any real interest, like in Europe. Between lawyers, property values, and noise complaints, it seems like we sportcar people are pretty much screwed...

that rumor has been around for years..
I remember hearing it in 1997 when I first started auto-xing at the Q

The alternatives in San Diego SUCK
The water park in Otay is small
They ran a few events at NTC

Of course there is always Holtville..
I think it's aroun 100 miles away... but it's a crappy track... concrete chunks and pot holes tear up your car

California Speedway is closer!

They need to build a race track in Perris or Lake Elsinore or something

As long as the situation between the Chargers and the city are still in limbo, I don't think there will be any changes to the "Q" in the near future.

I would definitely agree that the site in Mission Valley has its days numbered. If the Chargers move downtown or out of town all together, Qualcomm will be razed. If the Chargers agree to stay in Mission Valley, plan on a major renovation that would get rid of all that precious open space.

Even though I have never participated in any events there, it would be sad to see it go. I just get so busy with school that I never can get around to making it out to an event and learning as a novice.

Qualcomm 's west lot is one of the best in the country.

on and off camber turns,
up and down hill.

Speeds anywhere from 5 to over 100 mph have been seen at Q

I've been north of 80 in my civic
vettes and other high HP cars see 100+
