Check Engine Light comes on only after hitting 6000rpms
this happened to me last night. I was driving with 2 other people in the car and after hitting 6000rpms, the fuel cut off as if i was hitting the rev limiter and the check engine light came on.
I pulled over, stopped the car, then started it up again with no Check Engine Light. ok, cool. I drove around for a bit keeping it under 4000rpm's and still no CEL. ..getting curious and anxious I brought it up to 6000 and the same thing happend -fuel cuts off and the CEL comes on.
I have a '94 gsr with ~140,000 miles. The car drives fine as long as i keep it under 6000rpms (when the secondaries come in). Anyone have any ideas? I wanted some opinions before i start taking it around to shops
thanks!

Why don't you just check the codes? It could be a hundred different things. But since your light comes on, it makes everything so much easier.
Just run the code and see what it is.
Just run the code and see what it is.
I had the exact same problem at the ITR EXPO last year, but it only popped up after driving at a constantly high rate of speed, just reset the ecu.
I got that code, 22 right after I boosted hard through the top of 4th gear. It wasn't a fuel cut, but it stopped pulling hard, and I noticed that the tach would jump around from like 7-8k. I added a little oil (it was a little low) and then the problem went away. Well for a day at least, the next day, my engine blew. hahahah It wasn't because of the code thou, I just overboosted.
