Default 30 whp loss?

I went to the dyno a couple of months ago and dynoed my ls/vtec setup at 185whp which i felt was low to begin with. I returned to the dyno yesterday and the car was dynoed at 155 and got lower after every run....the first thing to come to mind was i blew the motor or bent valves so we did a compression test which was 220 across the board, and leakdown was below normal amounts allowed. my tuner is great and knows his stuff in and out, and air fuel was dead on nothing else was touched. what could cause this? we think its electrical(Distributor or msd) but i wanna get some more input before i rip out my msd box...
my mods are:
ls/vtec
type r pistons
ported b16 head
skunk2 stage 2 cams , springs , retainers
type r manifold
3" aem intake
dc jdm 4-1( running open header)
hondata
msd digital 6 and external coil.
everything on the motor has under 3,000 miles on it and the car is not daily driven so any input at all will be greatly appreciated.

That's a nice little setup you got there for that LS. You should be putting out 200+

that is not a 200+ build
that is a ~180 build
your first numbers seemed about right
i dont understand why your power kept dropping tho
i would think the MSD stuff is taking a dump on you

I disagree, Skunk2 stages 2's, ported head, and hondata. With ITR pistons. That maybe not a 200 build. But it should be damn near. Actually theres no reason why that shouldnt go close to 200whp on a dynojet.

not really
at most he is running 11.3:1 compression and his cams are not super aggressive
they are more comparable to toda b's
i say that his motor is good for 190 at most

Ditch the MSD for a stock ignition and see what happens.

That should be a 200whp build. I made just over 200whp w/ITR cams and VAFC, so he should get 200 once he gets the bugs worked out.

Like ^ he said, try the stock ignition.

what wheels were you running the first time and what wheels now?We went to the dyno with 13's the first time and hit 230..the 2nd time on gsr wheels we were at 200..wheel size makes a big difference...look at the speed(mph)of both runs.

It was actually on a bone stock ITR block, not an LS. I'm pretty sure I still have the dyno sheet somwhere at home. This was on one of my old motors a few years back.

same wheels ,same verything, except i added the 3" intake and removed power steering so i was expecting better#'s not worse....the peak #'s are down by 30 whp and before where vtec used to spike up and rise it now dips about 20 hp and then rises to the lower peak....also the first dyno was smooth and this one is very jagged and peaky if that matters...thanks guys...also where is the cheapest place to get these oem parts online?

so what do you think a 1996 JDM ITR with AN-r header, 3" aem cai, and 2.5" crush bent exhaust would put out??

answer: 191/132.4 at the wheels

i'm gonna pull the digital 6 this weekend...anyone have any idea on how to connect the external coil to the factory ignitor? the black and orange wire from the coil go to the white/blue wire and black/yellowwire form ignitor or is it something else?

you sure your vtec is kicking in? my buddies didnt have enough oil pressure which wouldn't let the lobes switch over. just my two cents
