Default any other 6th gens with this problem?

I'm new to the board, but I have a question for all the 6th gens. Last week, my driver side door on my 2000 coupe decided it was just randomly not going to open anymore. When I went to unlock the car and get out, the door would not budge. I locked and unlocked the car EVERY way possible.....remote, key, button in car, the lil thing that goes up and down when locked/unlocked.....EVERYTHING. It won't open.

When I took it to the Honda dealer, it was an estimated $400 job to fix, b/c they have to take the door panel off with the door closed. They said it had something to do with the latch-it felt like it was working from the inside, but not the outside of the car.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem? It was just a freak thing that happened to me, I didn't do anything to cause it. If there were others out there with the same situation as me, I was going to call Honda and try getting them to pay for it. Any input from anyone would be awesome!

It sounds like the latch is hung up or broken, and 400 dollars is a lot of money to fix this. I would try and fix it myself before i took it to them. It is not that hard to take the panel off from inside the car, but it is tricky. Let us know if you have any questions about it.

How exactly do you go about removing the door panel with the door closed? I would really like to try and do this myself and only pay a quarter of what I would pay at the damn dealer. Thanks guys.
