I have a set of ITR valve springs, i want to run skunk2 stage 1 cams up to about 8300rpm's, what do you guys recommend as far as upgrading valve springs or retainers. i was thinking about going with portflow inner valve springs, will i be ok with portflow inners and ITR outters on skunk2 stage 1's ?

ITR valvesprings work fine w/ skunk2 stage1s since their lift is almost exactly the same as ITRs. These can go safely up to stock ITR redline. I dont recommend using aftermarket titanium retainers b/c of their wear issues...

I think Portflows would be too stiff for S2-S1's since they're not as aggressive. An ITR valvetrain will work just fine up to the ITR redline. I've been told it can handle higher, and I myself have been higher (~9000), but I wouldn't recommend it, and I never did it again myself after that one time.

well it's in an LSVTEC and my head is a b16. i was planning on revving it to 8k, so is it safe to rev it to stock LS redline or B16 redline? i'm guessing b16, but just making sure.

Is your block stock? I wouldn't recommend taking it past 8k on a stock LS block. The LS block in stock form has a lower rod ratio than GS-R/ITR blocks, meaning it can't handle high-revs as well.
