Anybody else notice this after a rainy track day?
That the tread surface on my season old race tires (V700) look almost like new now. Well aside from the slightly reduced tread depth that is...
I was a track day this past weekend and most of the day was spent on a wet racetrack. Except for the last couple of sessions which were in the dry.
Usually, even after an autocross event, the tires look like somebody went over them with 10 grit sand paper and a heat gun.
Hehe, I think i've discovered a new way to clean up tires every once in a while

I know driving my V700s around for a day on the street cleaned all the rocks off them. It would seem that any time they're actually not hot enough to glue rocks to them, driving works pretty well to grind anything off that was ingrained in the tread.
