Opinions on my turbo kit...
I recently picked up a few key elements to my new turbo kit for dirt cheap, I wanted to get your opinions on those, and also let me know what else I am going to need, I have never built a turbo car before.
hf manifold
ihi probe/mx-6 turbo(good condition)
stock 2g eclipse bov with pipe
stainless steel braided oil feed line w/adapters
stock 1g dsm intercooler
turboxs manual boost controller
dsm 450's(injectors)
Im going to get a VAFC for the hack, and Im looking into an adapter plate. As far as the adapters he refers to on the oil lines, I dont think its completely ready to bolt on. Its pretty much just one of the metal sleeved hoses that is opened ended without adapters. My friend who will be doing the install said he would take care of the IC piping. So what else will I need? Thanks.

If you are in question replace them.
This is what I use and they are a honda-tech sponser http://fast-turbo.com/

Turbo Oil Feed/Supply line kit
- IHI RB series, K series, Holset, Rajay
$ 45
This one says it works for IHI turbos, which I have, but Im not sure about the RB series. Are the positive the universal kit will work?

adapter plate here. I got mine from him for a 14b, it came in just a few days priority mail. Good stuff, CNC'd.

Yeah, I talked to him regarding the adapter plate and he says this "if the turbo is an IHI RHB5 (4 bolt exhaust inlet flange) then I have an adapter plate". The turbo does have 4 bolts sticking out one end of it, (sorry really new to this) but can we be sure that that is the exact turbo?
He also says he has a "5 bolt DownPipe Flange", do I need that? The guy I bought the turbo from gave me some downpipe with an o2 sensor in it, but Im not sure what its from.

I don't know that turbo, so I can't really help on that. I'd almost say take pictures of it for him and go from there.
If you can fit that O2 housing on the turbo and it has clearance in the car, you can probably use that to make a downpipe off of. Otherwise the flange he is offering replaces the O2 housing and provides the piece needed to make a custom DP.

Ohh ok, I understand. He did say that with the "downpipe" he gave me I could just weld on another piece of pipe to it and continue with the exhaust from there. So I guess I dont need the adapter. Ill take pics of the turbo, but it is how he described it.
Do you have any idea if the Universal Oil lines will work?

Honestly, I would just pick just pick up the line from Flamenco-T (fast-turbo.com)...$45 is a steal for what you get! Also...I would do some research on the Uberdata before you spend the money on the AFC hack...It looks to me like it is a better option for about the same amount of cash if not less...and it will run the 450's just fine. Not to mention that you'll have built in boost ignition retard that is adjustable.

As for the return line...you should just be able to use some heater hose and a piece of 1/2" steel tubing welded on to the pan then drill a hole in to the pan after is is welded on. Best of luck!

If you really plan on running that pos stock 2g bov, change your mind. Its a pile of crap. Just dish out the $40-$60 someone wants for a 1g bov. 2gs leak at idle, leak while spooling, and cause you to lose boost you built. They suck big time. Everything else sounds bueno
Ill check out the uberdata.
As far as the 2g BOV you are the second person to tell me they suck, so Im starting to believe it. If Im going to spend the extra money on a BOV I want something alittle louder, nothing obscene. Any cheap suggestions?
Also, what do you guys do for intercooler piping on the homemade setups? I dont want to invest alot in it because I will probably get a front mount in the future.

1g bov. It's awsome and you'll never find anything better for the money. People have held ~25 psi on the w/o issues. Steer clear of the GReddy type-s. I had a lot of fluttering issues with it. I have a blitz now but it's not quite cheap.

I'm just going to be using manderal exhaust bends from summit...I think they are like $13.95 each or something like that for 2.5". and if you ahve any friends that can weld and are will in to donate some time and some skill your in luck!

Really Fucking Loud
I haven't heard anything bad about them.
I will be running the Type-S...I haven't had any problems with any of the cars that I have driven with that one either.

Hah, yeah I figured.
Does anyone think that that turbo is too small? I have had a couple people tell me that it will be and if it is it will cost a good bit to redo with a new turbo, new oil lines, and a new adapter plate.
Should I just go for a 14b right off the bat?

The turbo should be fine for low boost. I'm just going to be using an Air Research .42 A/R T3...whisch is about the same size as 16G. One of my buddies is using a T25 on a D16Z6 and it seems to work well, almost instant boost and decent top-end at 9 psi.

Nice, I think you'll be happy with that. Be sure to check out the Uberdata...just download it and mess around with it. It is a really cool program.
