Default 2 Easy questions for all your NA gurus :)

Put bluntly, my house garage should be up in a month. I will have a full set of power tools and a hydraulic lift at my disposal 24/7. My GSR at this time has bad rings, and is putting out poor compression/burning oil.

What do I need, in detail, for a full rebuild?

My car has about 87k miles on her already, I was wondering what parts I would need for a wholesome rebuild?

This includes pumps, gaskets, etc. I want everything OEM as well. Besides what I have told you, I was wondering if JDM ITR pistons/rods will work on a stock GSR? Will I have any issues? If so, what would I need to do to fix that.

Cliff notes: In detail, what do I need for a good rebuild (gaskets etc), also, will JDM ITR pistons/rods work well on a stock GSR (crank).

Thanks

I think that the GSR and ITR cranks are the same except for weight so you shouldn't have any problems with the pistons and rods.

The main thing I would check is the condition of the cylinder walls before you go buying pistons to make sure they are in good enough condition to just hone instead of over-boring.

Ok thanks, this is my 1st time opening up the block (my friend has put together many himself) so we'll be fine.

Would the rod/stroke ratio of the GSR be affected by ITR piston/rods? TIA

No, Although if you're looking for a little more displacement/compression/torque.. etc... swap in a LS crank + rods.

You'll be at ~11.5 CR w/ ls crank w/ your block and your head. Assuming you're @ the stock 81mm bore.

85mm? got $$ for a resleeve(~$900)? + 85mm pistons (~$500)

82mm is maximum.
